Driver Hospitalized After Crashing Into New Freedom Home: Firefighters (Photos)

A driver was hospitalized after crashing into a home in New Freedom Borough late Tuesday night, Feb. 13, according to Rose Fire Company #1.

Firefighters were called to the scene at North 2nd and West Main streets at 11:20 p.m., where they found a vehicle had veered off the road and slammed into a residence, the fire company said.

Crews evacuated the home and checked for structural damage while MICU 58-2 transported the driver to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Firefighters remained on scene for more than an hour, helping clear a "large debris field" and assisting the homeowner with securing the property, officials said.

West Main Street was shut down at South Broad Street and South Front Street for roughly two hours as emergency crews responded.
